THE DAJJAL (ANTICHRIST) AND MAHDI, ARE THEY A MYTH?

THE DAJJAL (ANTICHRIST) AND MAHDI, ARE THEY A MYTH?

It has come to our attention that many people are in fact apprehensive of the coming of the Dajjal and Mahdi, with each generation suspecting the Mahdi and Dajjal to emerge in their time. However if we take a closer look into all of the Hadith concerning both the Dajjal and Mahdi, along with a bit of logic and understanding, we will come to realize that the Dajjal and Mahdi are in fact mere ideas that will never come into reality.

Let us start off with the Dajjal: What is he, where is he, and when will he come to our world? We get all of these answers only from so called Hadith that the Prophet stated. There are hundreds of Hadith on the Dajjal, and what we will do is reveal some of them and conduct an analysis along with logic to decipher whether the Dajjal is a myth, or a reality.

WHO IS THE DAJJAL?

The following Hadith give us an idea:

Narrated Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir:

I saw Jabir bin ‘Abdullah swearing by Allah that Ibn Sayyad was the Dajjal. I said to Jabir, “How can you swear by Allah?” Jabir said, “I have heard ‘Umar swearing by Allah regarding this matter in the presence of the Prophet and the Prophet did not disapprove of it.”

(Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 9, Book 92, Number 453)

Here, we can see that one of the companions of the Prophet has sworn that a specific man (Ibn Sayyad) is THE Dajjal. Apparently this companion was mistaken as Ibn Sayyad died with no account of being the Dajjal whatsoever.

Therefore either the companion and the Prophet were mistaken, because the Prophet did not reprimand his companion, OR, it is simply much better to say that this Hadith is false and has nothing to do with our Prophet or Islam as a whole. Notice this Hadith is in Sahih Al-Bukhari which already displays the unreliability and lack of authenticity in his Hadith.

Another Hadith:

‘Muhammad b. Munkadir reported:

As I saw Jabir b. ‘Abdullah taking an oath in the name of Allah that it was Ibn Sa’id who was the Dajjal I said: Do you take an oath in the name of Allah? Thereupon he said: I heard ‘Umar taking an oath in the presence of Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) to this effect but Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) did not disapprove of it.

(Sahih Muslim)

And  now  here  we  have  possible  the  same  Hadith  as  the  previous  one  with  the exception that this  time  the person is Ibn Sa’id and in the previous Hadith that person was Ibn Sayyad. Notice this Hadith is in Sahih Muslim and the previous was in Sahih Al Bukhari.

Here is another Hadith:

Abu Bakrah said, “The Prophet said, “The Dajjal’s parents will remain childless for thirty years, then a one-eyed child will be born to them. He will be very bad and will cause a great deal of trouble. When he sleeps, his eyes will be closed but his heart (or mind) will still be active.’ Then he described his parents: ‘His father will be a tall and thick man, with a long nose like a beak; his mother will be a huge, heavy-breasted woman.’ Abu Bakrah said, “We heard that a child had been born to some of the Jews in Madina. Al-Zubayr Ibn al-Awam and I went see his pa, and found that they matched the description given by the Prophet. We saw the boy lying in the sun, covered with a blanket, murmuring to himself. We asked his parents about him, and they said, ‘We remained childless for thirty years, then this one-eyed boy was born to us. He is very bad and causes a great deal of trouble.

When we went out, we passed the boy. He asked us, ‘What were you doing?’ We said, ‘Did you hear us? He said, ‘Yes; when I sleep, my eyes are closed but my heart (mind) is still active. That boy was Ibn Sayyad.”

(Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi)

Let us examine this Hadith, first I want you to notice something very important, that the Prophet is giving a description of the parents of the Dajjal. Recall what you have been taught about the excellent qualities of the Prophet and compare them with the how the Prophet is describing two people. He describes the father of the Dajjal with “a long nose like a beak” and the mother as a “heavy-breasted” woman, descriptions that make you shudder to think the Prophet would ever use such words. We have another problem with these descriptions. They are suggesting that the Prophet knows the unseen! This is a quality exclusive to Allah.

Look at the following verses from the Quran:

6:50 Say: “I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of God, nor do I know the future, nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I merely follow what is inspired to me.” Say: “Are the blind and the seer the same? Do you not think?”

7:188 Say: “I do not possess for myself any benefit or harm, except what God wills. And if I could know the future, then I would have increased my good fortune, and no harm would have come to me. I am but a warner and a bearer of good news to a people who believe.”

So as you can see from the following verses the Prophet does not know anything from the unseen except what he can interpret from the Quran. Obviously the Dajjal has no mention in the Quran and is therefore a fabrication. But let’s continue with analyzing the Hadith. So the Prophet has apparently just given a full description of the baby and his parents and then two companions just heard that such a new-born was available in Medina. So they left and upon arriving at the house, the parents allowed them to enter and gave an exact description as the Prophet. Sounds like the Prophet has just become a fortune teller, giving prophecies of the unseen when the Quran CLEARLY refutes any such nonsense.

Apparently the baby is just a newborn, which is why the two companions immediately left for the house upon hearing that such a person was born. The problem is that this newborn can speak while still in the cradle, a miracle that was only given to Jesus. Other Hadith indicate that the Prophet knew of three babies who spoke in the cradle, we simply cannot accept such fabrications because that would mean the Prophet would know the unseen, which is false. Notice that this baby is Ibn Sayyad who SHOULD be the Dajjal according to the correct descriptions given by the Prophet. The problem is that this baby has two good eyes, because at the end the baby who spoke from the cradle said: “when I sleep, my eyes are closed”, according to the Prophet’s description, this babyshould have said, when I sleep, my “eye” is closed, not my “eyes”. So according to this extremely contradictory Hadith we have established that Ibn Sayyad is the Dajjal. Or is he? Other Hadith indicate otherwise.

Look at this ridiculous Hadith in Sahih Muslim which refutes the idea that Ibn Sayyad is the Dajjal:

Abu Sa’id Khudri reported:

Ibn Sayyad said to me something for which I felt ashamed. He said: I can excuse others; but what has gone wrong with you, O Companions  of  Muhammad,  that  you  take  me  as  Dajjal?  Has  Allah’s  Apostle (may peace be upon him) not said that he would be a Jew whereas I am a Muslim and he also said that he would not have children, whereas I have children, and he also said: verily,  Allah  has  prohibited  him  to  enter  Mecca  whereas  I  have  performed Pilgrimage, and he went on saying this that I was about to be impressed by his talk. He (however) said this also: I know where he (Dajjal) is and I know his father and mother, and it was said to him: Won’t you feel pleased if you would be the same person? Thereupon he said: If this offer is made to me, I would not resent that.

(Sahih Muslim)

So even after all the Prophet said about Ibn Sayyad and his parents, it just turns out that Ibn Sayyad cannot be the Dajjal. Apparently he hasn’t met the Prophet’s qualifications of what it takes to be a Dajjal because he has kids and has entered Medina. But it these ridiculous and fabricated Hadith that invent lies and stories about our Prophet and reveal that either two things here must take place; either the Prophet  is misguided, or these are fabrications  against our Prophet. I leave the choice for those who respect and love and know Muhammad as a man who Allah has described as a person with excellent qualities.

Of course we are not finished. There is another Hadith which indicates someone or something else that could be the Dajjal. Look at this Hadith which is most like an Indian film with its plot.

Amir b. Sharahil Sha’bi Sha’b Hamdan reported:

(PART) He (Prophet Muhammad, peace) said: ‘By Allah, I have not gathered you here to give you an exhortation or a warning. I have kept you here because Tamim al-Dari, a Christian man who has come and embraced Islam, told me something which agrees with that which I have told you about the Dajjal. He told me that he had sailed in a ship with 30 men from Banu Lakhm and Banu Judham. The waves had tossed them about for a month, then they were brought near to an island, at the time of sunset. They landed on the island, and were met by a beast who was so hairy that they could not tell its front from its back. They said, “Woe to you! What are you?” It said, “I am al-Jassasah.” They said, “What is al-Jassasah?” It said, “O people, go to……

As we saw the Dajjal Hadiths above, Allah did not protect these books  as  there  was  no  need  and  it  wasn’t  necessary  and  because  the  Quran  is enough. Plus, since the Hadith are important for the salvation of mankind against the Dajjal (some Hadith say to stay protected from the Dajjal you have to recite the first 10 verses of Surah Al Kahf) then why didn’t the first companions and Caliphates record these Hadith and write them down? Why was it until Bukhari came some 200-300 years later and wrote down and gathered these Hadith that they became super important, all the way to a fact that the Hadith are almost just like the Quran and just as important? If they were indeed so valuable, then why did the Caliphates such as Omar burn them all up if they contained valuable info concerning the Dajjal? Because there was no valuable info, because the Dajjal is a fake, and because the Hadith are not the second source of Islam.

Let’s have a look at the following Hadiths:

Ibn Shihab said: “‘Omar Ibn Thabit al-Ansari told me that some of the Companions of the Prophet told him that on the day when he warned the people about the Dajjal, the Prophet said: “There will be written between his eyes the word Kafir (unbeliever). Everyone who resents his bad deeds – or every believer-will be able to read it.” He also said, “You must know that no one of you will be able to see his Lord until he dies.’”

(Muslim, al-Bukhari)

Ibn ‘Omar said, “The Prophet mentioned the Dajjal to the people. He said, “Allah is not one-eyed, but the Dajjal is blind in his right eye, and his eye is like a floating grape.’”

(Muslim)

Anas Ibn Malik said, “The Prophet said, ‘there has never been a Prophet who did not warn his people against that one-eyed liar. Verily he is one-eyed and your Lord is not one-eyed. On his forehead will be written the letter Kaf, Fa, Ra (Kafir).”

(Muslim, al-Bukhari)

When we start analyzing the first Hadith, I think we can find a number of problems found within it. Is it possible for the Prophet to even consider mentioning that Allah Glory be to Him, is not one-eyed?!?! This is complete blasphemy, and the fact that Allah is not even close to anything on this planet, let alone a one-eyed liar which is a complete fabrication anyways.

As for the second Hadith, if every single Prophet had warned his people then why don’t we see this in the hundreds of stories about the Prophets found in the Quran?? Not a single Prophet mentioned the Dajjal in the Quran, and the fact that the Dajjal is not even mentioned at all is sufficient proof for anyone to know that the Dajjal is a fake.

CONCLUSION

The stories of Dajjal and Imam Mahdi are found in man made hadiths books. These stories are not in the Quran.

Man made hadiths are not divine scripture like the Quran. The Quran is an authentic divine flawless book while man made hadiths books have no authenticity from God and his Messenger.

Please see the pages of Quran for yourself and see if you can find a single word on Dajjal and Imam Mahdi from the Quran. It’s all from the man-written Hadiths.

Dajjal and Imam Mahdi stories commonly accepted by both Sunnis and Shias Sects.

The myth of Masih-ad- Dajjal is a typical rhetorical drama for the purpose of making lectures interesting for spiritually (and otherwise) uneducated common people who have no desire for the quest of Quranic knowledge nor are they interested in reflecting on Quranic contents for themselves. These folks take the spoon-fed lies of the clerics as law, regardless of its contradiction or non-conformity with the Quran.

The purpose is to basically prevent people from spreading vices by scaring them with horrific legendary descriptions of a villain. It’s also often used for constructing the signs of Qayamah (Day of Resurrection),

God has made it clear in the Quran that the Last Day will have no signs and will come upon the people unawares, suddenly. Even if there is a warning, it will be too short with no time for turning back or making amends.
